GDOT To Close Lanes On I-575 For Weekend Work

The Georgia Department of Transportation is once again warning motorists it will close lanes along Interstate 575 in Cherokee County this weekend.

One northbound and one southbound lane will close on the interstate between S.R. 92 in Woodstock and S.R. 140 in Canton nightly from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, the agency said.

Further south in Cobb County, one northbound and one southbound lane will close on I-575 between Barrett Parkway and Chastain Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday for work on the Express Lanes project.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution as they proceed through these areas, as workers and equipment will be in close proximity to the roadway.
