Gold Swimmer One Step Closer to Olympic Dream

Alarii Levreault-Lopez has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials.

At the Speedo Junior National Swimming Championships in San Antonio, Texas, Chattahoochee Gold swimmer Alarii Levreault-Lopez placed 8th in the nation in the 200 Butterfly event. His time of 2:01.50 qualifies him to take part in the U.S. Olympic Trials.

Because Levreault-Lopez has dual American-Mexican citizenship, he hopes to compete in the Olympic games in 2016 or 2020 for Mexico or the United States.

Several weeks ago, he took part in Mexico’s National Long Course Swimming Championships in Guadalajara. Levreault-Lopez captured the 18 & under Mexican National Championship in 100 Butterfly and the 18 & under and overall championships in 200 Butterfly.
