The first meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the Chambers at City Center, will provide an overview of Art Woodstock’s mission, vision, process and timeline to create a proposed Art Master Plan.
Art Woodstock is dedicated to creating, implementing and maintaining a master plan for the city. The volunteer-based group seeks to bring more public art to the city, which it argues will promote and nurture a vibrant community rich in culture.

A strategic consulting team will be present to answer questions from the audience. All Woodstock residents, business owners and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and provide input.
Following that initial meeting, a series of drop-in meetings will be held throughout the city to reach a broad sector of citizens and stakeholders.
At these public workshops, organizers will provide examples of public art, maps with possible installation locations, survey completed by attendees identifying the type of art wanted and the preferred locations of these structures.
Those meetings are:
- 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Chambers, 8534 Main Street: public workshop to provide examples of public art, maps with possible installation locations, survey completed by attendees identifying type of art wanted and preferred locations.
- 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, Mountain Brook Clubhouse (location tentative, check website for final confirmation)
- 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, Deer Run West Clubhouse,
From 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, another general public meeting will be held at the Chambers to summarize information gathered from the previous three public workshops. The draft master plan will be unveiled later this year, and will go to the Woodstock City Council for approval.
