Holly Springs To Host Memorial Day 5K, Fun Run

The city's annual event will begin at 8 a.m. May 27 at Holly Springs Elementary School STEM Academy.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- The city of Holly Springs is preparing to host its annual Memorial Day 5K and Fun Run.

The city's event will kick off at 8 a.m. May 27 at Holly Springs Elementary STEM Academy and wrap up at Barrett Park. Race-day registration will begin at 7 a.m. at Holly Springs Elementary School.

Holly Springs will donate the net proceeds to the school. In 2016, it presented the school with a check for $3,070 and is looking forward to exceeding that amount this year.

Registration is $25 through May 26, and $30 on the day of the race. Those interested can pre-register on Active.com. Additional details, including the race route and mail-in registration forms, can be found at www.hollyspringsga.us/memorialday5K.

A part of the Black Bag race series, awards will be given for overall male and female, masters male and female, and three deep in 15 age groups ranging from 10 and under to 75 and over. At the conclusion of the race, a 1K Fun Run will be held for children ages 12 and under.
