John Carson Named Vice Chair of House Energy Committee

Carson represents parts of Woodstock and southeast Cherokee County in the Georgia House of Representatives.

The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative John Carson (R-Marietta) as vice chairman of the House Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee.

Rep. Carson currently serves as a member of the House Transportation and Ways & Means committees, as well as Secretary on the Insurance Committee and Vice Chairman on the Intragovernmental Coordination Committee.

“It is an honor to be appointed vice chairman of the House Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications Committee,” Carson said. “I appreciate Speaker Ralston’s confidence and look forward to working with Chairman Don Parsons on common sense legislation to benefit Georgia’s consumers of energy and telecommunications.”

The House Energy, Utilities, & Telecommunications Committee, chaired by Rep. Don Parsons (R-Marietta), is responsible for legislation concerning the electric and gas utilities, as well as telecommunications providers.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
