Kumon Opens Math, Reading Center In Woodstock

Kumon is the the world's largest after-school math and reading program.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- The demand for supplemental education programs has been high in Greater Atlanta and because of that, Kumon, the world’s largest after-school math and reading program, has seen a massive expansion in the area. In the past five years, 20 new Kumon Centers opened in Greater Atlanta.

Thousands of additional parents in the metropolitan area will now have access to an individualized learning program for their preschool to high school aged children with the opening of the first Kumon Math and Reading Center in Cherokee County at 6422 Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock.

“Atlanta is one of the nation’s fastest-growing metro areas, and as a result we’ve seen a great deal of success meeting the high demand for Kumon Math and Reading Centers,” said Larry Lambert, vice president of franchise recruitment at Kumon North America. “We are extremely appreciative of the support from the Atlanta metropolitan area and are especially excited to bring the first math and reading center to Woodstock. Our main goal and commitment remains to provide as many children as possible with an academic advantage and love for learning.”

Kumon’s Presence in Greater Atlanta includes:

  • 8,392 subject enrollments at 54 centers
  • First center opened in 1989
  • 50 percent increase in the number of centers in last ten years
  • 85 percent increase in subject enrollments in last ten years
