Hello again, neighbors! I'm back with your new copy of the Woodstock-Towne Lake Daily. Here's everything you need to know about what's happening in town.

Here are the top five stories in Woodstock-Towne Lake today:

  1. The Woodstock Public Library held a special event for children Tuesday in collaboration with the North Georgia Wildlife and Safari Park in Cleveland. During the program, an educator and zookeeper at the park gave live demonstrations with seven of its animals, including a duck, alligator, and python. Event organizers say that more than 240 library patrons showed up for the interactive event. (Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
  2. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in finding a local man who was last seen in Woodstock on May 25. 52-year-old Daniel "Dan" Cox is said to be 5'8" and weighs approximately 200 pounds. Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office at 770-928-0239 or 911 and reference case number SO22-008996. (Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
  3. The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has approved a seven percent increase in pay for sworn positions with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office in addition to a flat $5,000. The increase makes it one of the leading sheriff's offices in the metro area for law enforcement pay. It also marks the third year in a row that the board has voted to increase public safety salaries in an effort to recruit officers. (Cherokee County Communications Division)
  4. The Hall County Sheriff's Office issued a warning on Tuesday for residents looking to celebrate the Fourth of July at nearby Lake Lanier. Officials say four people have drowned in the lake since Memorial Day, with three of those drownings occurring in one week. According to the Forsyth County Fire Department, these incidents often occur when people try to swim out to islands on the lake. They reminded swimmers that the distance across the water is farther than it seems and often includes strong currents and waves. (Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch)
