WOODSTOCK, GA — Safe Kids Cherokee County is keeping kids and adults safer this summer with a new life jacket loaner station installed at Rope Mill Park. With community partners, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, Woodstock Fire, Woodstock Parks and Recreation and Boat U.S. Foundation the loaner station was dedicated to Woodstock Parks and Recreation on Thursday.
The station has life jackets for those that need one to borrow and return while they are boating, kayaking, paddleboarding or canoeing. It also offers education on how to properly fit a life jacket.
Water safety is one of many injury prevention initiatives offered through Safe Kids Cherokee County.

“We know life jackets save lives," said Lisa Grisham, spokesperson and coalition coordinator. "By providing these for the community we hope to ensure those who might not have a life jacket or possibly forgot their own will be able to stay safe on the water.”
Safe Kids Cherokee and Boat U.S. Foundation will continue to supply life jackets for the loaner station as needed and Woodstock Parks and Recreation will maintain it.
