Chattahoochee Gold Families Donate To Hurricane Relief Efforts
Members of the Woodstock-based swim club purchased Christmas gifts and other necessities for families recovering from Hurricane Michael.
Two months ago, the most powerful hurricane ever to come ashore on the Florida panhandle devastated the coastal town of Mexico Beach. Many of the town's 11-hundred or so residents are now struggling to put their homes, and their lives, back together.
The families of Woodstock-based Chattahoochee Gold swim club knew it would surely be really tough for these families to celebrate the holidays, so they did their part by purchasing gifts; including toys, clothes, bedding and gift cards (for local home improvement and clothing stores) for the families.
This week, Gold coaches Luke Osgood and Jasmine Green made like Santa's helpers and made the trip south to deliver the items to a local sheriff's office for distribution to the families. Coach Luke said, "I'm glad to have had an opportunity to help this community in a time of need. I'm proud to be a part of a team that has such caring families."
