Meadows joined the United States Army in 2005 and with the rank of sergeant, he served in the infantry and airborne divisions, was stationed in Alaska for four years and served a tour in Iraq from 2006 to 2007.
Meadows was captivated by the JDog business concept and the opportunity for veterans to be their own boss.
“I knew I wanted to own my own business and found that opportunity with JDog,” he said. “When my wife and I learned of JDog’s proven business model and the amazing leadership and support, we knew we had the chance to be part of something great. We see this franchise as a great fit for our community based on the military values it’s founded on. We really look forward to being able to grow this business and continue to give back by putting veterans to work with us locally.”
The franchise is one of two JDog locations to debut this week in Georgia. Meadows hopes to provide local veterans with jobs in the coming years as his business expands in the area.
A grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Semper Fi Bar & Grille, located at 9770 Main Street in Woodstock.
JDog awards franchises exclusively to military veterans and their family members. Franchise owners operate easily recognizable, camouflage vehicles and trailers and wear military-style uniforms.
JDog recycles and repurposes a substantial amount of the material they pick up. The Philadelphia-based company works closely with local and national organizations like Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity, as well as local schools, churches and hospitals to donate useful items to those in need.
