Man Arrested In Santa Hat For Attempted Child Molestation: Cops
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office arrested a 68-year-old man Tuesday who was wearing a Santa hat when he attempted to meet with a teen for sex.
CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — A 68-year-old Georgia man was arrested Tuesday while wearing a Santa hat for attempting to meet up with a teen for sex, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said.
Investigators with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children unit arrested the man Tuesday at an undisclosed public location in southern Cherokee County.
Jimmy Lee Bowling, 68, of Ellijay, arrived at the location shortly after noon Tuesday to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Bowling was arrested without incident and charged with attempted child molestation, pandering, sexual exploitation of a child, obscene internet contact with a minor, and violation of the computer pornography and sexual exploitation act.
Bowling is currently at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center being held without bond.
