Man Charged With Impersonating Police Officer
The man told Cherokee sheriff's deputies he allegedly pulled over a vehicle because the motorist was driving in an "aggressive manner."

ACWORTH, GA -- A southwest Cherokee County man is accused of conducting a traffic stop on a motorist he said was driving in an "aggressive manner."
That's according to the Cherokee Sheriff's Office, who arrested and charged Brian Kristopher Weikel, 37, with impersonating a police officer.
The agency was made aware of Weikel's alleged activities when deputies responded around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2 to the Waldan Pond apartment complex along Bells Ferry Road just south of Highway 92.

The citizen said he witnessed a "suspicious" traffic stop that took place at the major intersection and wanted to report it to authorities, sheriff's office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker.
That citizen followed the vehicle, a dark gray Ford Focus, that was used to pull over the other motorist and was able to direct deputies to where it was parked inside the apartment complex. Deputies tracked down the driver, later identified as Weikel, an Acworth resident, "who stated he had conducted a traffic stop in his civilian vehicle using a blue light that attaches to the visor of his vehicle," Baker said.

He also told deputies he pulled over the vehicle because its driver was operating the vehicle in an aggressive manner.
"Weikel is not a certified peace officer and holds no type of authority in the state of Georgia," Baker said, adding a blue strobe light was located inside the Ford Focus and taken into evidence.
Weikel is in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with an $11,200.00 bond. Detectives are asking if anyone recognizes Weikel and thinks he has pulled them over in the past to contact them at 770-928-0239.
