Man Charged In Road Rage Shooting In Woodstock

The victim, who at the time had his one-year-old child and another passenger inside the vehicle, suffered a minor graze wound to his back.

WOODSTOCK, GA — A Marietta man has been charged in connection to a road rage incident reported Tuesday morning along Highway 92 in Woodstock.

Officers responded around 9:05 a.m. May 22 to the incident on the highway at Londonderry Drive. Woodstock police spokesperson Brittany Page said a firearm was discharged during the incident and Charles Jenkins of Acworth received a minor graze wound to his back.

Jenkins was not transported to the hospital for treatment. The suspect, Jayvon-Rowham Waller, was "quickly taken into custody by officers," Page said.

Waller is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, as another passenger and the victim's one-year-old child were in the vehicle at the time of the altercation. He was also charged with reckless conduct, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana less than an ounce and possession and use of a drug-related object.

He remains held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center without bond, said sheriff's office spokesperson Sgt. Marianne Kelley.
