Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Highway 92
Police say the man was wearing dark clothing when he was hit by a vehicle Friday evening near Wade Green Road in southwest Cherokee County.

A 53-year-old man was hit and killed while trying to cross a four-lane highway Friday evening in southwest Cherokee County.
At around 9:44 p.m. March 20, the man stepped into the westbound lane on S.R. 92 near Wade Green Road when he was fatally hit by a Nissan Altima driven by Galyna Losinska of Kennesaw, the Georgia State Patrol said Saturday afternoon.

Trooper Tim Nichols said it’s “suspected” the victim was under the influence at the time of the accident, and toxicology results are pending to confirm this detail.
Citing an incident report filed by the agency, Nichols said the driver of the Altima did not see the pedestrian and ”was unable to avoid the collision due to the low light conditions and dark clothing worn by the victim.”

Nichols stated the victim has been identified, but the investigating trooper has been unsuccessful in notifying his next of kin or other family members at this time.
