In Memory: David Young, JUMP Kitchen & Sports Saloon Owner

The following obituary was submitted by Lakeside Funeral Home in Woodstock:

David C. Young, 46, of Canton, Georgia, died Sept. 10, 2014, at his residence.

David was born in Houston, Texas, on Dec., 28, 1967, and spent most of his life in Longview, Texas, before settling in Georgia in the late 90’s. While in Texas, David graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston.

David was known to have a charitable heart. He would respond quickly to help those in need, and gave generously to help his community and neighbors. David was a “driven” business owner (Jump Kitchen, Woodstock, GA.,) who worked very hard to ensure the patrons were pleased with their service and experience. He was a talented athlete and was very active with the sports and other activities of his children. David also enjoyed riding his Harley, being on the lake, hunting, and spending time with his family.

David was preceded in death by his father; Reginald Gladish Young Jr., and grandfather; Reginald Gladish Young.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Michelle Young, daughter; Amber Young, sons; Johnathon Young and Daniel Young, mother; Judy (Ramon) Cantu, brother; Jim (Amy) Young, sister; Jennifer (Drew) Jackson, father-in-law; Robert Goerner, grandmother; Virginia Young, grandparents; Charles and Ann Goerner. Several nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive.

Visitation was held on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 at Lakeside Funeral Home.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014 at Lakeside Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Thrasher and Dr. John Beyers officiating. A celebration of life service was held following the memorial service at JUMP Kitchen.
