In Memory: Russell Allen Hodgson, 53, Beloved Father and Husband
Hodgson attended and played football at Georgia Tech and later transferred to Georgia Southern University where he graduated.

Beloved husband and father, Russell Allen Hodgson, 53, passed away at his home Jan. 3, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife and college sweetheart, Tanya Sue, and their son, Tyler, and daughter, Kelsey.
Allen grew up in east Atlanta and graduated from Woodward Academy. He is preceded in death by his father, Russell Cottrell Hodgson Jr., and his mother, Mildred Higgs Hodgson; his sister, Jacqueline Theresa Hodgson; his grandparents, Russell Cottrell Hodgson Sr., and Ethel Tench Hodgson, and Festus and Ofa Rollison Higgs.

He attended and played football at Georgia Tech and transferred to Georgia Southern University where he also played football and graduated. He was a retired partner of Repco Sales of Georgia.
Fishing, music and sports were his passions and he coached youth football, baseball, basketball and softball for 15 years.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Jan.8, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lakeside Funeral Home. A celebration of life service was held on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Hillside United Methodist Church in Towne Lake.
The Reverend Calvin Yarborough and Dr. John Beyers both officiated the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Allen’s memory to Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), for the Allen Hodgson Scholarship Fund, PO Box 801432, Acworth, Georgia 30101 or American Brain Tumor Association at ABTA.org.
