Body of Missing Woman Found in Lake Allatoona
Letrise Portia Ross' body was recovered in about five to six feet of water near the Harbor Town Marina in Cherokee County.
ACWORTH, GA — The body of a 49-year-old woman reported missing on Sunday has been recovered.
Search crews found the body of Acworth resident Letrise Portia Ross just after 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 in the lake at Harbor Town Marina, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Service said in a press release.
Ross' family reported her missing to Cherokee Sheriff's Office officials Sunday afternoon when she did not return to the Webster Boat Ramp near Red Top Mountain in Bartow County.

Ross left the ramp around 10 a.m. Sunday and was expected to return around 1 p.m. the same day, the sheriff's office previously said.
According to Cherokee fire officials, Ross' Jet Ski was found floating near an island close to the marina on Galt's Ferry Road around 5 p.m. Sunday.

The victim's body was recovered about 200 yards from the mainland in about five to six feet of water at the marina.
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office notes foul play is not suspected in the death. Return to Patch for updates.
