National Merit Scholar From Woodstock Named In 1st Round
Corporate-sponsored awards went to students who plan to complete an undergraduate program at the awarding college or university.
WOODSTOCK, GA — The first wave of National Merit Scholars for 2022 has been named by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Rachel G. Kim from River Ridge High School was among the scholars. She plans on pursuing computer programming. She was awarded the National Merit Raytheon Scholarship.
Approximately 1,000 distinguished high school seniors have won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards financed by more than 135 corporations, company foundations and other business organizations.

Scholars were selected from students who advanced to the finalist level in the National Merit Scholarship competition and met the criteria of their scholarship sponsors.
There will be three more rounds of scholarship winners under the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program for a total of 7,500 academic champions and scholarships worth approximately $28 million.
