Neighbors Rescue Couple From Roof Of Burning Woodstock Home
The neighbors used a ladder Saturday to rescue two people trapped on the roof of a burning Knotts Circle home.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Neighbors rushed to save a couple shouting for help that became trapped on the roof of a burning home on Knotts Circle Saturday night, according to the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
The fire was located around 11:15 p.m. at Knotts Circle near Highway 92 and West Wylie Bridge Road, fire officials said. The Woodstock Fire and Rescue Department responded with the Cherokee County fire department.
Neighbors heard smoke alarms at the house and saw smoke and flames near the house's window, fire officials said.

They also saw two people standing on the roof shouting for help, fire officials said.
The pair had been sleeping when they were woken up by smoke detectors. They tried to open the bedroom door but found thick black smoke and escaped through their bedroom window onto the roof, fire officials said.

Neighbors quickly got a ladder, put it against the home and assisted the two people with getting down from the roof as firefighters arrived, fire officials said.
The two people were evaluated and there were no reported injuries.
The home had significant smoke and fire damage, fire officials said. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office assisted on-scene.
