Obituary: Douglas Stephen Dowell, 55
Mr. Dowell for six months battled a malignant brain tumor.
The following is an obituary submitted by Northside Chapel Funeral Directors & Crematory in Roswell:
Douglas Stephen Dowell, age 55 of Woodstock, died Oct. 5, 2013. Doug fought a valiant 6 month battle against a malignant brain tumor. He is now resting peacefully in the arms of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Selena, and his beautiful daughters, Danielle (24) and Devin (20), all of Woodstock. He is also survived by his parents, Carl and Barbara Dowell of Toccoa; his mother-in-law, Alice Montgomery of Winder; his sister, Chris (Steve); brothers, Carl (Linda) and Ken (Meredith), all of Woodstock; and sister, Tonya (Larry) of Winder. He has many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
He showed us all the meaning of Agape love. He lived his life by faith and had a servant’s heart. He filled all who knew him with humility and grace. Doug will be greatly missed but he gave us the everlasting gift of peace in knowing that he is standing in the glory of God.
A funeral service will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Woodstock, with service times to be announced.
