Parents Arrested For Child Cruelty, Meth, Forgery In Acworth
Cherokee deputies found $2,250 in counterfeit money, 8 grams of meth and prescription medication in a hotel room with a 15-month-old child.
ACWORTH, GA — The parents of a young child were arrested recently after deputies found a large amount of drugs and counterfeit money in a hotel room where the baby was.
Cherokee Sheriff's deputies responded to the Day's Inn on Hwy. 92 at I-75 Friday morning after it was reported that a resident of the hotel had used counterfeit money to pay for a room. Deputies arrived at the hotel and went to the room where the suspects were staying. In the room were three adults and a 15-month-old baby, the department said.
Deputies discovered $2,250 in counterfeit money, approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine and prescription medication.

Arrested was Jim Boy Stanley, 40, of Dallas, Georgia; Rachel Girton, 28, of Memphis, Tennessee; and Sheryl Bissel, 53, of Arnold, Missouri.
Stanley was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, two counts of forgery in the first degree and 25 counts of forgery in the second degree. He remains in custody with a $137,000 bond.

Girton was charged with possession of methamphetamine and cruelty to children. She remains in custody with a $5,875 bond.
Bissesl was charged with drugs to be kept in original container and possession of a schedule II drug. She remains in custody with a $5,555 bond.
The baby is now in the custody of DFCS. The U.S. Secret Service was notified and is assisting in the investigation, deputies said.
