Pedestrian Killed In Weekend Crash

Charges are pending in a fatal pedestrian accident that killed a Canton woman overnight Sunday in Woodstock.

The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. Oct. 11 along Arnold Mill Road east of O’Hara Drive, a spokesperson with the Georgia State Patrol said.

Initial reports indicate at 1999 Ford Ranger driven by Joseph Randall Champion, 34, of Woodstock was traveling eastbound when it traveled off the south side of Arnold Mill Road and struck a pedestrian with the right front part of its bumper, the agency stated.

The victim, Stacy Michele Utz, 34, of Canton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under the investigation by the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
