McGaw, a retired member of the United States military, has escorted Reeve for the past three years on Memorial Day as he was honored for his service to our country.
“I believe the picture represents exactly what the officers of the Woodstock Police Department represent,” Prem said. “Honor, integrity and pride. They deserve to be recognized for their dedication to being part of the community, not just protecting it.”
The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services is a component of the U.S. Department of Justice responsible for advancing the practice of community policing by the nation’s state, local, territorial and tribal law enforcement agencies through information and grant resources.
“We have such a great relationship with our community and we are fortunate to have a photographer to capture the many moments where we are engaged with the community,” said Woodstock police spokesperson Brittany Duncan.
Chester Reeve’s daughter, Janine, Prem and McGaw will be recognized at the Jan. 25 Woodstock City Council meeting at the Chambers at City Center.
