Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office have increased patrols in the Eagle Watch neighborhood following the incident.

Police are looking for two men in a truck who allegedly tried to lure a girl into their vehicle with promises of a puppy.

Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office responded Monday evening to Longwood Drive in the Eagle Watch subdivision in Towne Lake. A 12-year-old girl told deputies she saw two men traveling in a green older model Ford F-150 with a camper shell on its rear, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

The girl said she was riding on her scooter to the playground when the ”truck pulled up near her and the driver asked her if she wanted a puppy,” Lt. Jay Baker said.

“According to the girl there was a puppy in the vehicle,” he said. “After telling the man she didn’t want the puppy, the girl told deputies the man said, ‘if you get in the truck I will give you a puppy’,”.
