1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s disease. The only leading cause of death in the U.S. that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed, it is imperative that we have elected officials who are working to make Alzheimer’s a national priority.
As an Alzheimer’s Association advocate I was fortunate to meet with meet with Congressman Barry Loudermilk recently to discuss the staggering impact of Alzheimer’s on Georgia and across the nation. In a meeting at his district office, my fellow advocates and I shared our own personal experience with this devastating disease. We implored Congressman Loudermilk to be a champion in Congress for the 140,000 Georgians living with Alzheimer’s.
Alzheimer’s is the most expensive disease in the U.S. Alzheimer’s costs the country more than $259 billion a year, which is why we need the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act. If we are going to end Alzheimer’s disease, then we must start treating it like the public health threat it is.

Congress has a chance to take decisive action passing the Building Our Largest Dementia (BOLD) Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act (S. 2076/H.R. 4256). Endorsed by the Alzheimer’s Association, the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act would create an Alzheimer’s public health infrastructure across the country to implement effective Alzheimer's interventions including increasing early detection and diagnosis, reducing risk and preventing avoidable hospitalizations
Please join me in asking Congressman Loudermilk for his support in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.
