Reformation Brewery Celebrates Women In Beer Industry
The Woodstock-based company will unveil Flora Bora, an IPA brewed by women, during a limited release event on Thursday, March 29.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Women from the local community gathered together at Reformation Brewery in Woodstock this March for International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day, a global celebration of women and beer that invites women to get hands on with the brewing process. On Thursday, March 29, you will be able to taste the fruits of their labor with the release of a session IPA dubbed Flora Bora.
With a special hop blend and specially priced pints that support the Pink Boots Society in their annual fundraising efforts, $1 per pint will be donated to PBS in their efforts to educate, inspire, and encourage women in the beer industry.
Flora Bora is both a nod to the special blend of hibiscus and hop flowers, including Simcoe, Loral, Citra, Palisade, and Mosaic, added during the brew and a reference to the historical figure Katharina Von Bora. Wife to Martin Luther, who is best known for sparking the Protestant Reformation with his 95 theses, Katharina Von Bora was known to serve her home-brewed beer to guests invited to theological conversations in their home.

YCH Hops worked with Pink Boots Society to develop the featured hop blend, and describes the combination as “fruity but not overly tropical, with more dominant citrus and herbal notes. The small addition of Simcoe® gives the blend just a hint of old school, while others like Loral®, Citra®, and Palisade® will help drive the fruit flavors forward. And really, who doesn’t love Mosaic®, so we added at touch of her too.” You can click here to learn more about the Pink Boots Hop blend.

“Beer is this beautiful cultural connecting point right now, and it’s exciting to see how many women truly have a passion and purpose in this industry,” Jessica Miller, Reformation Brewery’s communications director said. “The ancient Sumerian hymn to Ninkasi celebrates fermentation as a gift and dates back to 1800 BCE when brewing was basically women’s work and a domestic responsibility. So it’s definitely an exciting moment to see local women getting their hands in the experience, tapping into that history, and returning brewing to its roots for this international moment.”
“Flora Bora” will be available on draft as a brewery only limited release beginning Thursday, March 29. For more information, and to celebrate the moment with women from our community, see more details on the event page.
