Registration Opens For Cherokee County Safety Town
The camp's goal is to educate upcoming kindergartners on how to stay safe and protect themselves against preventable injuries.
From Cherokee Co. Fire: Cherokee County Safety Town is a week-long summer camp featuring a pint- sized town, a wide range of guest speakers, fun activities and educational crafts all centered around the goal of educating upcoming kindergartners on how to stay safe and protect themselves against preventable injuries.
Every summer Safety Town educates an average of 225 five-year- olds on how to stay safe in the water, around animals, poisons or strangers, on the school bus, their bicycles or the sidewalks, in the car, or in case of an emergency. According to Ashley Arp, Director of Safety Town, “With our hands-on approach, we guarantee your upcoming kindergartner will leave our camp with a wealth of valuable knowledge that will keep them safe and prepared in any emergency situation. They might even teach you something!” For a nominal fee of $80, your child will meet public safety from multiple divisions of Cherokee County, attend a karate session, get a sneak peek inside of a firetruck and police car, learn all of their bike signals, have their bike helmet fitted, and much, much more! The 2018 sessions will be held, are June 4 - 8 (limited space available), June 11 - 15, and June 18 - 22. Camp is held from 9 AM to noon each day at Bascomb Elementary School, located at 1335 Wyngate Parkway in Woodstock, Georgia. To register your child, go to:
