Registration Opens For Safety Town Summer Camp

Cherokee County Safety Town is geared towards kindergartners and will be held in Woodstock during the month of June.

From Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services: Cherokee County Safety Town, sponsored by Safe Kids Cherokee County, led by Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, and supported by the Cherokee County Council of PTAs, is a summer camp with a pint-sized town where safety messages are taught by Cherokee County Public Safety professionals to children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall. Safety Town is geared to those kindergartners that will be attending, public schools, private schools or home schools.

Safety Town covers topics such as water safety, poison safety, fire safety, stranger awareness, pedestrian and traffic safety, school bus safety, and much more. With the help of our teen volunteers, Safety Town runs in three one-week sessions in the summer at Bascomb Elementary School on Wyngate Parkway in Woodstock: June 5-9, June 12-16, and June 19-23. Each day begins at 9AM and ends at 12pm. A nominal fee of $80 per child for the week includes all crafts, snacks, draw string bag and a t-shirt.
