Restaurant Inspections: Blood Inside Freezer, Live Roaches

The Cherokee County Environmental Health Department conducted food service inspections March 1-15 at the following establishments:

Cancun Mexican Grill Inc (Food Service Inspections)*

View inspections: March 9, 2017 Score: 74, Grade: C

• Observed improper vertical separation of raw animal foods and ready-to-eat foods. Corrected on site by rearranging the meat/foods based on the final cook temperature.
• Observed the inside of the ice machine dirty. Must correct by the end of the shift. Corrected On-Site.
• Potentially hazardous foods for hot holding are kept on the steam table with out reheating to 165 degrees. Corrected onsite by reheating the foods to 165 degrees on the stove. Corrected On-Site.
• Observed food bins stored on the floor. Must store the bins 6 inches off the floor.
• Wet wiping cloth not stored in sanitizing solution between uses. Corrected onsite by storing the cloth in the sanitizer. Corrected On-Site.
• Must clean the doors and gaskets of the reach in coolers.

• Observed blood inside the reach in freezer.
• Observed foods prepared onsite not date marked. Corrected onsite by putting the dates. Corrected On-Site.
• Observed food container not properly labeled (salt, sugar).
• Observed meat/chicken being prepared in one of the 3-compartment sink with soap next to it. Must only use the meat sink for preparing meat.
• Observed roach activity as evidenced by live roaches found.
