River Ridge Head Football Coach Steps Down
Coach Robert Braucht completed his sixth year as head football coach on Nov. 7, with a 3-7 record for the season.

River Ridge High School in Woodstock is in the market for a new head football coach.
Head Coach Robert Braucht has stepped down from the post, the Cherokee County School District said on Friday.

Braucht completed his sixth year as head football coach on Nov. 7, with a 3-7 record for the season.
River Ridge’s first head football coach hired when the school opened in 2009, Braucht over the six seasons achieved a record of 21 wins and 30 losses.

In 2012, the team won the title of Region 7AAAA Runner-up and competed in the first round of the state playoffs. Its best season was in 2011 with 8 wins and 2 losses. River Ridge began competing in the A classification of the Georgia High School Association’s ranks, then moved to AA, to AAAA and now competes at the AAAAA level.
An immediate search will begin to hire a new head football coach, the district added.
“We are thankful to Coach Braucht for his hard work and dedication to our school and our program,” River Ridge Principal Darrell Herring said. “We wish him the very best in his future endeavors. We will move forward to hire the very best coach that fits the River Ridge High School tradition to provide a comprehensive education for our student athletes.”
