This year when you register you will pick the location your scarecrow will be located. The registration fee is $20, and you will receive the rules and instructions for the event when you register. There is limited space available for this event, so be sure to get your entry in early.
Voting will also be held at the Visitors Center, so citizens can drop by anytime during the month of October to vote for the scarecrow you like best. Votes are $1 each, and businesses with scarecrows may have voting set up in their respective stores for their scarecrow.

The winner will receive bragging rights and, of course, a trophy. Proceeds from the Scarecrow Invasion will be donated to GROW, the design committee for Main Street Woodstock.
These volunteers create and implement great initiatives for the community. You might know them from their beautiful landscaping and holiday decor along Main Street. The funds raised from the event in the past have been used to purchase and install the three art benches in the downtown area.
