Subdivision Donates Money To Firefighter Burn Foundation

From Cherokee FD: Representatives from Heron Pond Subdivision, located off Highway 92 in Woodstock, presented a check to the Georgia Burn Foundation last Thursday at Cherokee County Fire Station #7 in southeastern Cherokee County.

The Georgia Burn Foundation partners with the fire service and burn care community to provide fire safety and prevention education, support medical facilities and assist burn survivors in their recovery. Ray Villemez, Safety Coordinator with the subdivision, presented a check in the amount of $2,870 to Sgt. Rick Ehlke and Fire Safety Educator, Beth Elder. Representatives with Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services have taught residents in the subdivision how to use a fire extinguisher properly and the importance about changing your batteries in your smoke detectors.

A portion of the money will stay in Cherokee County to assist with fire education here locally.
