Tony Morgese Drops Out, Campaigns For Hobson

"I believe strongly that Sarah is the only candidate with a vision for how the Office of the Solicitor General should be run," he said.

From Sarah for Solicitor: Anthony (Tony) Morgese announced today he is withdrawing from the race for Cherokee County Solicitor General, choosing to endorse and campaign on behalf of the Republican candidate Sarah Hobson. Sarah announced her candidacy for the position in September 2017."I have been an attorney in Cherokee for twenty years," said Morgese.

"Upon announcing my decision to run for Solicitor General, although I received tremendous support, for which I am truly grateful and honored, I also realized that I would miss the relationship with my clients, past and present, as well as would not be able to adequately devote my time to other opportunities that have arisen since announcing my intent to run for Solicitor, and, thus will continue as an attorney in private practice.""I believe strongly that Sarah is the only candidate with a vision for how the Office of the Solicitor General should be run.

I value greatly fairness, honesty, treating all individuals with respect, courtesy, and dignity, and I see these same values in Sarah."Morgese highlighted Sarah's deep experience as a prosecutor and a private attorney as one reason why she is better suited for the position, expressing that Sarah can evaluate a criminal case from the perspective of both the defense and prosecution. Hobson and Morgese largely agreed on many of her campaign positions about serving taxpayers, defending the Constitutional rights of citizens, and ensuring prosecutors have both the tools and the direction to do their job well."There isn't a doubt in my mind her qualifications are unique and surpass those of the other candidates.
