Traffic Alert: Lane Closures Planned For I-575

The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorists that crews will close lanes this weekend along Interstate 575 in Cherokee County for the Express Lanes project.

On I-575, one northbound lane will close between Barrett Parkway and Chastain Road and one southbound lane will close between the Dupree Road overpass and Towne Lake Parkway from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 to noon Saturday, Oct. 17.

Additionally, motorists are also warned that one northbound and one southbound lane will close nightly on I-575 between the S.R. 92 interchange in Woodstock and S.R. 140/Hickory Flat Highway in Canton from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 to 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution as they proceed through these areas, as workers and equipment will be in close proximity to the roadway.
