Located off Trickum Road, True Center provides a welcoming space to remember who you are, reclaim your voice of truth, and restore your connection to wholeness, says founder and executive director Eve Willson. "The opportunities for personal transformation and community enrichment offered through True Center are intended to support a thriving community where every individual is a valued contributor to the whole." The organization hopes to open a broader conversation about community and is encouraging open dialogue through the community-wide conversation.
"We are pleased to host this community conversation, bringing together diverse voices from across Cherokee County to identify ways to build upon the strengths of our community," says Willson. "Our intention with this event is to celebrate the Cherokee County community thriving from the inside out." The event will include practical ideas for individual connection to community and an open forum for sharing new ideas for strengthening the bonds of community.
"In strong, sustainable communities, people are hopeful about the future and form strong bonds and connections with one another," says Willson. "There is a spirit of cooperation and collaboration and ample opportunities for each member of the community to expand and express who they truly are." True Center has identified eight key characteristics of thriving communities: 1) Connection, 2) Wholeness and Integration, 3) Action, Expansion, Engagement, 4) Truth and Alignment, 5) Nature and Natural Systems, 6) Peace and Compassion, 7) Sustainability, and 8) Inclusivity. These characteristics provide points of connection for the panel discussion and community conversation.
To continue its emphasis on "Celebrating Community" and thriving from the inside out, True Center is also sponsoring a community-wide mandala workshop Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.pm.
