Police Identify Suspect in Armed Carjacking, Robbery (UPDATE)

Detectives believe the suspect, Thomas Bennett, is in the Alpharetta, Milton or southeast Cherokee County area.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Alpharetta police have identified the man they believed carjacked a woman and robbed an area business.

Thomas Bennett, 47, is wanted on one count each of armed robbery and robbery in connection to two incidents occurring within a two-week time span, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said Friday evening.

Bennett is accused of carjacking a woman Dec. 5 on Rucker Road at Harris Road.

Authorities also believe he is behind the attempted robbery of Walgreen's at 12305 Crabapple Road, which was reported Wednesday, Dec. 14.

According to police, Bennett walked into the drug store, "stated he had a gun and would shoot unless he was given cash," the agency previously told Patch.

The vehicle Bennett allegedly carjacked from his victim was found Thursday afternoon on Arnold Mill Road near River Ridge High School in Woodstock.

Alpharetta police say investigators believe Bennett is in the Alpharetta, Milton or southeast Cherokee County area.

Anyone who sees Bennett or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
