What's Open, Closed On Memorial Day In Cherokee County?
All state and federal offices will be closed Monday, May 29 in observance of the holiday.

CANTON, GA -- The three-day Memorial Day weekend serves as a time when Americans officially pay our respect to veterans who've made the ultimate sacrifice serving this country. We also use this time to kick back, fire up the grill and enjoy laughs and catch up with our friends and loved ones.
And if you think the men and women responsible for operating non-emergency functions of government won't take advantage of this unofficial start of the summer season, then you were sorely mistaken.
Government offices for Cherokee County as well as the cities of Ball Ground, Canton, Holly Springs, Nelson, Waleska and Woodstock will close on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day.

Trash service will not be impacted for Canton and Woodstock customers.
If you want to make a trip to your five branches of the Sequoyah Regional Library System, then you will have to wait until Tuesday, as the Ball Ground, Hickory Flat, Rose Creek, R.T. Jones and Woodstock institutions will also be closed.

The Cherokee County school systems has closed out its 2016-17 school year, and Reinhardt University and Chattahoochee Technical College's Woodstock and Canton campuses will close Monday to observe the holiday.
Of course, the Cherokee County Health Department, along with other state and federal offices, won't open due to the holiday. The United States Postal Service won't deliver mail Monday, as it's one of the agency's observed holidays.
Finally, banking institutions and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce will also be closed.
