  1. Woodstock High School has earned national recognition for its charitable spirit. The school was named the recipient of the Spirit of St. Jude Award from Varsity Brands for its support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As part of its prize, Woodstock High will receive a $3,000 award, which the school announced would be donated back to St. Jude. (Press Release Desk )
  2. The Georgia Department of Public Health has released the latest COVID-19 case numbers for Cherokee County. The number of total cases reported in the county on Wednesday, Jun. 22, was 47,437, an increase of 310 from the previous week. County hospitalizations also increased by six, with a reported total of 2,456. (Cherokee Tribune & Ledger News)
  3. Freedom Middle School has earned the renewal of its national digital citizenship certification through 2023. This designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching students to use technology responsibly and to think critically. Principal Whitney Nolan credits the school's media specialist Amanda Struchtemeyer for helping Freedom achieve the re-certification. (Cherokee County School District)

Downtown Canton is hosting Garden in the Park, an inaugural event that highlights the city's handmade art, food, music, flowers, plants, and recycling.
