Wine Stave Wall Seeks To Preserve Woodstock History
Rootstock & Vine, which plans to open at the site of the former Hot Dog Heaven, hopes its personalized wall will become a landmark.
WOODSTOCK, GA -- Since its inception, the folks behind the push to open Rootstock & Vine in downtown Woodstock has placed community and historic preservation at the heart of its mission.
As developers begin transforming the northwest corner of Main Street and Towne Lake Parkway to accommodate their business venture, the community is invited to become part of the future of downtown while helping builders retain a piece of its history.
Rootstock & Vine plans to construct a memorial wall "celebrating this exciting time as our great downtown continues to grow and develop," the company said.

"With the removal of the Wayne Lester Building that has housed the long-standing Woodstock mural to make room for a new left turn lane, we sought to preserve the spirit of the mural," it added. "Our personalized wine stave wall will be proudly displayed high atop Vintner’s Rooftop creating a new landmark for the community, and an icon in downtown Woodstock."
The wine stave wall will be six feet high and 20 feet long, and will be erected on Vintner’s Rooftop, which will be constructed of oak wine barrel staves.

"This would make a wonderful and unique gift or a great conversational piece for you and your friends while visiting Rootstock & Vine in the heart of downtown," the company states. "It’s sure to make you smile when you see your inscription on the wall, knowing that your contribution helps to save and restore a historic building in our lovely downtown area."
There are also several options available if you’d like to make a more substantial contribution to our redevelopment project or you have a local business or corporation and would like a beautiful advertising option.
