Woman Robbed While Walking 2 Dogs In Woodstock

The victim told police a man ran up from behind, pushed her to the ground and stole $10 from her wallet last week.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Woodstock detectives are investigating the robbery of a woman who was walking her two dogs last week in a neighborhood off Ridgewalk Parkway. Officers were dispatched to the incident around 11:12 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 in the 600 block of Market Place Lane.

The 29-year-old told police she was walking her two dogs in front of her home and came to a stop when a man ran up from behind, "pushed her into the bushes and pulled her hair," an incident report from the Woodstock Police Department states.

When the assailant pulled her hair, the victim's phone case, which also serves as a wallet, fell out of her back pocket. The male subject allegedly took a $10 bill from the case and fled the scene on foot, the report states.

One of the woman's dogs chased the subject, who was described as a black male about 6 feet tall. He was wearing black pants, a black-hooded sweatshirt, and his dreadlocks had blonde streaks woven into his hair, the report adds.

After stealing the money, the male ran around the corner towards the tennis courts and was seen making his way towards the wood line at the end of Breeze Lane. The woman's dog was also able to bite the man on his leg, but "she called him back, as the fleeing suspect and the canine got close to the woods," the officer added in the report.
