Husband Charged With Killing Wife Inside Car In Woodstock

Police say the suspect and victim were "married, but separated" at the time of the shooting, which happened Tuesday on Highway 92.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Police have charged a Cherokee County man with fatally shooting his wife Tuesday evening inside a vehicle along Highway 92 in Woodstock.

Ball Ground resident Darrell L. Eaker II, 43, has been charged with malice murder and aggravated assault, Woodstock police spokesperson Brittany Duncan said.

Eaker is currently being held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.

Eaker's wife, Audra Eaker, also 43, was found deceased inside a vehicle around 9:30 p.m. Dec. 27 along Highway 92 at Indian Valley Drive, which is located in front of QuikTrip.

The victim was behind the wheel of a gray 2011 Ford Edge, which was traveling westbound toward I-575 at the time of the shooting. Duncan stated it's unknown the destination the Eakers were traveling to when the shooting took place.

She added that the couple was "married, but separated" at the time of the fatal shooting.
