Woodstock Buys Land For Future Trail Head
The two lots on Woodglen Terrace are near Rubes Creek east of Main Street.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- The Woodstock City Council will soon have additional land to turn its dreams of creating a trail network into a reality.
Council members at their March 13 meeting voted to authorize the purchase lots 21 and 22 on Woodglen Terrace. Mayor Donnie Henriques was not present.
Woodglen Terrace is adjacent to Rubes Creek east of Main Street.

The purchase price would be $68,000. According to the city, $30,000 would be paid in cash and the rest would be donated by the seller.
The vacant lots, City Manager Jeff Moon said, would be used as a future trail head, and is adjacent to property the city already owns. Woodstock plans to use that property as part of a future trail connection, Moon stated.

Monday's purchase follows the council's approval at its Feb. 27 meeting to purchase land at 3165 Trickum Road for $425,000. Woodstock will use parks and recreation impact fees to fund the purchase.
While the city said the land will be designated for parks and trails usage, no timeline on development has been ironed out, Moon told Patch.
