The Woodstock City Council last week unanimously voted to rename that portion of the road between Ridgewalk Parkway and Olde Rope Mill Park to Olde Rope Mill Park Road. Council member Rob Usher was not present.
The Council considered several options for the change, including names that contained the words Greenprints, Commerce and Johnston. However, the consensus among the council was to enact a name that would signify the location of Olde Rope Mill Park.

City leaders brought forth the discussion since the relocation of Woodstock Parkway and the opening of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta separated that segment from the portion of Rope Mill Road that runs from Main Street to the roundabout on Woodstock Parkway.
City Manager Jeff Moon said the change won’t impact any residences or businesses. Kirk-Rudy, a company whose frontage sits along the road, uses a side street -- Lorraine Parkway -- as its street address.
The change goes into effect immediately.
