Narcotics Squad Agents were able to establish credible information Michelsen was engaged in the manufacture and distribution of products containing the dangerous drug Fentanyl. At 2 p.m. on March 6, Agents observed Michelsen leave his residence. Because Michelsen was wanted on felony arrest warrants in four jurisdictions, Agents requested uniform support to arrest Michelsen. Uniformed deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office stopped Michelsen, and Michelsen ran on foot for a short distance.

Both Michelsen and his wife, Elizabeth, were taken into custody. Search warrants were executed at their house on Reed Lane, and on two storage facilities (one in unincorporated Cherokee County and one in the city of Woodstock). The execution of the warrant on Reed Lane was supported by the Drug Task Force, the Cherokee Fire Hazmat Team, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Bomb Squad, Cherokee Multi-Agency SWAT and the DEA Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Team.

A man identified as Timothy Andrew Twardokus, 47, of Redford TWP, Michigan, was arrested at the Reed Lane address after it was determined he had active felony warrants for his arrest. Twardokus was transported to the Cherokee Adult Detention Center and then later transported to the Cobb County Jail on outstanding warrants in that county.

Agents, K-9 and U.S. Postal Inspectors located nearly an ounce of cocaine, approximately 14 grams of heroin, approximately 1-pound of marijuana and an estimated 50,000 counterfeit tablets (30.84 pounds) in vacuum sealed bags, totaling roughly $250,000. The tablets are suspected to contain fentanyl and alprazolam, or Xanax.

The couple remain in custody at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center without bond.
