Woodstock Employee Named City Clerk Of The Year

WOODSTOCK, GA -- The Georgia Municipal Clerks Association has awarded Rhonda Pezzello with its City Clerk of the Year designation.

The award was presented during the Georgia Municipal Association's annual convention held June 23-26 in Savannah.

GMA hosts the convention each year, allowing elected officials and city staff members to learn the latest in municipal operations. Pezzello, who has been Woodstock's city clerk since 1991, was honored during the awards luncheon held Monday.

“This award is well-deserved,” said Woodstock’s City Manager Jeff Moon. “Her service and dedication to Woodstock is exemplary and we are proud of her."

During her tenure at Woodstock, Pezzello has "proven herself to be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of the city where citizens, staff, and elected officials would describe her as the backbone of the city," Woodstock said.

"Rhonda not only serves as chair of several committees within the city of Woodstock, but she has also served on committees with the Georgia Municipal Clerks Association," the city added. "While Rhonda stays busy with her duties, she can always be counted on to lend a helping hand, prayer, or smile to anyone."

Created in 1933, Atlanta-based Georgia Municipal Association is the only state organization that represents municipal governments in Georgia. GMA is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and technical consulting services to its members.

GMA's membership currently totals 521 municipal governments, accounting for more than 99 percent of the state's municipal population. Visit the organization's website for more information.
