WOODSTOCK, GA -- Woodstock firefighters have completed a search and rescue training operation focused on retrieving victims from wooded areas.
The training, which was held last week at Olde Rope Mill Park, was taught by Woodstock Fire Department Sgt. Cory Collogan, who has extensive experience in search and rescue efforts in the Cohutta Wilderness Area of the Chattahoochee National Forest.
The one-day training course focused on various methods of search and rescue, statistical probabilities for typical behaviors and when and where to use certain methods most appropriate to location and type of incident. Each shift was trained over a three-day period.
