Woodstock Gives Seeds Away For Arbor Day

They'll be giving them away from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. next Friday, but numbers are limited so get there early.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The City of Woodstock is celebrating Arbor Day 2018 in the most appropriate way — they're giving out tree seeds for citizens to plant and care for.

On Friday, Feb. 16, the City of Woodstock will give away 800 Crepe Myrtle and Dogwood tree seedlings. They'll be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving away seeds at these locations:

  • City Hall Annex, 12453 Highway 92
  • Dean's Store, 8588 Main St.
  • Senior Center, 223 Arnold Mill Rd.

They will also be giving out books full of vital tree care information, including planting and pruning as well as current water restrictions.

The City of Woodstock, in their flyer about the event which is posted on Facebook, thanked the East Cherokee Publix Bakery for donating the bags they'll use and the William G. Long Senior Center for assembling the seedling packages.
