Woodstock High School Names New Men's Basketball Coach
Kingston Clark brings 20 years of head coaching experience to the Wolverine program.

Woodstock High School’s men’s basketball program on Friday announced its new head coach will be Kingston Clark, who brings 20 years of head coaching experience to the Wolverine program.
Coach Clark will take over as Woodstock’s sixth head basketball coach beginning next school year. He was among the new teacher hires approved by the Cherokee County School Board at its April 16 meeting and will teach PE and health classes at Woodstock.
Coach Clark is experienced in transforming struggling programs into successful ones. In 2000, he took over a program that consistently performed below average at Pierce County High School and amassed a record a 123-40 with the Pierce County Bears over five years, including three consecutive trips to the state playoffs, and a region championship and Final Four appearance (2003).

During his tenure at Pierce County, Coach Clark was twice named Region Coach of the Year. In 2005, Coach Clark accepted a major challenge by moving to Valdosta where he coached at Lowndes High School. He compiled a record of 104-51 and led his team to two region runners-up, three Sweet 16 appearances and multiple state playoffs appearances.
Coach Clark recently relocated his family to metro Atlanta, anticipating an opportunity to build a program such as Woodstock High School’s.

“I look forward to working with and becoming a part of the Woodstock High School community,” said Coach Clark. “I am excited about the future of Wolverine basketball.”
Incoming principal Mark Smith, who is transitioning from his position of principal at Woodstock Middle to Woodstock High this summer, said he is looking forward to building a legacy with Coach Clark as they begin their leadership roles together at Woodstock High School.
“This is a great fresh start for a program with a lot of potential. Coach Clark’s combination of leadership, knowledge of the game and great enthusiasm make him the perfect choice to lead the Woodstock Wolverine Basketball program.”
Woodstock High School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Tonya Sebring added “we are anxious for the players and community to get to know him and recognize what he has to offer Woodstock High School.”
Coach Clark attained his love and experience for basketball during his high school years. In 1987 at Clinch County High School, Clark’s basketball team defied the odds and won the state championship title.
He was named Georgia High School player of the year for the (1A) division. He was also nominated to the McDonald’s All-American Team. He went on to attend college at Odessa College in Odessa, Texas.
He also attended the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas, where he was named most outstanding player his senior year. Clark graduated in 1991 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education.
He and his wife, Delamor, are the proud parents of their blended family of five: Hoarce Clark (27), a coach in Wayne County; Kingston Sharron Clark (21), member of the US Air Force; Rachael Smith (20), student at Fort Valley State University; Cateria Donaldson (15), student at Meadowcreek High School; and Keara Clark (15), student at Pierce County High School.
Clark and his wife are proud grandparents of Eli Allen Clark (4). Outside of basketball, Coach Clark enjoys spending time with his family and maintaining communication with former players, many who went on to play at the collegiate level and are current coaches throughout the country.
