Woodstock High School Senior Earns Perfect Score On ACT

Katherine Relick earned a 36 on the college entrance and placement exam.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- A student in the Cherokee County School District has achieved a perfect score on the ACT. Katherine Relick, a senior at Woodstock High School, earned a 36 on the college entrance and placement exam.

On average, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students who take the ACT earns the top score, the school district contends. Only 2,760 out of the more than 2 million students who took the exam in 2017 earned a score of 36 (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Exceptional scores of 36 provide colleges with evidence of student readiness for the academic rigors that lie ahead, according to ACT. The exam includes English, math, reading and science sections; each section is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, and the composite score is the average of the four.
