The female roommate of the accused told police she was asleep when Teron Cortez Harvey began assaulting her.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The Woodstock Police Department has arrested and charged a man accused of sexually assaulting a female roommate while she slept in another bedroom inside a home they shared. Woodstock resident Teron Cortez Harvey is charged with one count each of rape, sexual battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and two counts of probation, according to Cherokee County Adult Detention Center records.

According to warrants, the alleged assault occurred sometime late in the evening on Tuesday, Aug. 21. The warrants state Harvey allegedly entered the woman's bedroom while she was sleeping and sexually forced himself on her. When she woke up and realized what was happening, she told Harvey to stop and said she would call police for help, the warrant adds.

An argument began between the two, and Harvey allegedly placed the woman in a chokehold and threw her down onto the living room floor, the warrant adds. Harvey pulled out a black 9mm semiautomatic pistol, placed it to the victim's head and threatened to "kill her and bury her body," the warrant goes on to state.
